Calendar sync: what's available

Connect your calendar to Darlean to see all your meetings in one place and avoid creating events twice.

Which calendars you can connect​

You can sync Darlean with two external services:

  • Google Calendar
  • Microsoft Outlook Calendar

You can connect both at the same time — they work independently of each other.

How it works​

  • Sync is two-way and happens in real time. An event created in Google or Outlook appears in Darlean — and a meeting created in Darlean appears in the external calendar.
  • Any changes sync automatically — a new time, a cancelled meeting, an updated description.
  • Time zones are handled automatically — meeting times display correctly for every participant.

Where to view and add a connection​

  1. Click the button in the calendar's top panel. Before you connect anything, it's labeled "Sync"; once at least one calendar is connected, it shows the count instead — for example, "1 calendar".
  2. This opens the "Connections" window with a list of calendars you've already connected — showing the account address, the service icon, and a checkbox.
  3. Click "+ Connect" to add a new calendar.
  4. Choose the service and sign in with your account — Darlean never sees or stores your password.
  5. Once you confirm access, the calendar appears in the connections list and events start syncing automatically.

Next to a connected calendar you may see a tag, such as "Workspace integration" — this appears to mean the calendar was connected at the company level rather than by you personally. This should be confirmed with the development team before stating it as fact.

What you can configure​

  • Availability across both calendars — if both services are connected, Darlean takes availability from both into account, but doesn't sync events directly between Google and Outlook.
  • Turning sync off — you can disconnect a calendar at any time from the same "Connections" window.

If access is lost​

If authorization expires, Darlean will notify you and prompt you to reconnect the calendar. Until you reconnect, the system keeps showing the last known availability data.
